Essential items to keep in your car in Spain

When driving in Spain, it’s crucial to be prepared for any situation that may arise on the road. While Spanish law doesn’t require as many mandatory car items as some other European countries, carrying a few key essentials like a flashlight or first-aid kit can enhance your safety, ensure you’re in compliance, and help in case of an emergency. For comprehensive details on the required items and recommendations for driving in Spain, refer to the Essential items you must have for driving in Spain webpage.

Filling out your details

Before your holiday, fill in as many details as possible on the form and keep the pre-filled copy in your car. This preparation will save time and reduce stress if you need to complete the form immediately after an accident. In the event of a traffic accident, enter your information in one of the columns provided on the form. Be sure to sign the form at the bottom before submitting it to your insurance company.

When another party is involved

If another party is involved in the accident, they should fill in their information in the other column and sign the form as well. Each party can then send a copy to their respective insurance companies. It’s perfectly acceptable for you to send an English version of the completed form to your insura form to your insurance company and, they send a French form to theirs. As long as both forms contain the same information and are signed by both parties, they will be valid.
